Chapter Six

Vicki woke with Dom’s concerned face above her own. As she fully opened her eyes, she noticed his expression became carefully blank. “Sir?”

“Sit up.”

She did as he said. Then, he wordlessly handed her a mug. An unidentifiable liquid was in the glass. It looked like a brown substance, too light to be coffee. She sniffed it then cringed. The liquid smelled foul, making her stomach churn. She tried to give the mug back to him.

He shoved the mug back in her direction. “I am too pissed off right now for you to put up an argument, Victoria. Drink the damn mug.”

She drank it down in one gulp and gagged.

“Keep it down.”

She forced herself to do as he said.

“Good girl.” He patted her on the head. “Now stay quiet. I am going on a conference call in a few minutes.”

He went back to work. A few minutes passed and Victoria started to feel significantly better than when she went in. The drink must’ve been a hangover remedy. She didn’t think she was that obvious. She didn’t look that bad. She took extra time to make sure she looked good. Fresh shower. Shaved everything. Curled her long hair. Applied makeup to emphasize her brown eyes and to hide those frighteningly dark circles. He couldn’t have noticed unless he knew what she was up to last night. She dismissed the idea immediately.

She glanced at her slim watch, the only thing he let her wear when he told her to get under his desk. Almost noon. She shook her head, tired of being crouched under his desk. Her muscles were growing restless; she needed to stretch. She knew she wasn’t training to be his secretary—that would be a dumb thought.

She gripped his knees, growing antsier. She only had two boyfriends before. One, a high school jock who only romanced her until he achieved the “home run” and then ditched her. The other, a few weeks after college. She ditched him after she found him with two girls on his arms. She had a few one night stands, but after seeing Dominic in the distance, no man was ever good enough. Not when she could slowly earn her way up the corporate ladder to the right position and breathe the same air and at least fantasize about her fantasy man.

Looking back, all of her sexual encounters had been vanilla sex. It seemed like something was missing in her sex life. No one treated her like this. Out-of-the-ordinary. Words whispered through her head: dominant…submissive. She always knew she was submissive. She needed someone else to take the reins—at least for her sex life.

She ran a hand on the inside of his thighs, and he shifted his legs. Her mouth curved up. Even though she was submissive, she felt she had some kind of power. The power to arouse Dominic. To make him have to rein in his control.

He worked for an hour, no longer acknowledging she was there despite her insistence on his thighs. She
